and when i look out my window at night it hurts.
and everytime i close my eyes to rest my vision
i see a grim future, either death or prision.
cuz im from the "island of death" this is the nation of slums.
all we have is ambition and a facination wit gunz.
all i see is fiendz, smokers and stoners
and crooked cops copin' coke at the corner.
cops that sniff the white while they out on patrol.
they get paid by the killaz so the block is out of control.
shootin niggaz in they head right in front of they moms.
put the weight up on their bread now they labled a don.
cuz its easy to get up in the game
but its hard to stay alive, stay protectin your fame.
they'll take everything, exept for your name.
this is Puerto Rico even the best could get slain.
take a look at the youth, look at the pain in their eyes.
cuz they 16 year olds, and they already took about 16 lives.
their mothers overdosed on about 16 lines.
and their pops got shot up, about 16 times.
and his brotha is doin time, about 16 years.
so everyday he smokin blunts and drink about 16 beers
pour some liqor on the corner cuz he lost about 16 peers
on a driveby shootin' to take ova the 16th block.
they had automatic rifles while he held the 16 shot.
my grandfather told me, "you see them niggaz right there?"
they dead cuz drugs a game, and they dont play fair."
thats why i aint tryin to be left on the sidewalk wit my brains exposed.
i just open a notebook grab a pen and let my thoughts explode
this where i let my pain unload.
i keep heat close to me cuz this pain is cold.
im tryin to get my heart back cuz my heart just froze.
i have no friends cuz they aint easy to set appart from foes.
