How Come people always Want Shit For Free?

Word.

I try not to download songs anymore, unless I'm Forced to.

but Its killin the industry, and I want to start makin money in this shit in a few years.

But Fuck, dont tell me y'all so poor you cant put out $15 or however much for a fuckin album.

Hitchcock 02-28-05 07:53 AM

well u dont want to buy some album thats wack and waiste ya 15 dollars on, and there are some people who can't afford to b droppin 15 for a cd every week. but i buy some albums from artists i know who are consistent wit good albums. but some people u just want their albums but they arent good enuff to pay for. plus why pay for somethin when u can get it for free

gold gem 02-28-05 12:56 PM

yea like string said sum people's albums mainstream neway r wack & y wait money on buying dem so u download it but if i feel an album is worth buying den i'll buy it out da stores no doubt

High-Dro 02-28-05 02:16 PM

y wouldn't u get it for free....if u had the choice to have 15 dollars, or not to have 15 dollars, why would u pick to not have it....anyway, i download albums and if i like them i'll usually buy them cuz i like to support some artists....but if i downloaded the purple haze cd, which i did, it's not like cam is gunna lose money because i wouldn't have bought it regardless cuz i dont really like him, i jus wanted to check out the hype...

the point i'm tryin to make is that if i weren't able to download some albums, i would never end up hearin them at all, so if i were a professional recording artist, in some ways i would be happy that u can download my shit, cuz otherwise, the message i'm tryin to put out would never be heard...so i would rather consumers hear my music for free than have them not hear it at all

^i dunno if u understand whut i'm tryin to say or not, but thas jus my opinion

darshmatix 02-28-05 03:58 PM

whatever, if yall wanna download albums just to hear if they're good or not, but ur gonna buy the real shit anyways, more power to ya.

but i can honestly say that in my entire life, i have bought only one album, and that was no way out and thats only cuz i had to cuz at thta time i didn't know how to download shit.

other than that, i've had over 10,000 downloads in just under two years and i'm still runnin strong, so think about how much money i've saved. Not to mention now i can make my own cd's with the songs i like instead of paying for it. Yall people go out and spend enough money to feed the rappers so that i dont have to. So i'm cashin in, fuck droppin 18 dollars for a cd when i'm only gonna listen to a select 5-6 songs from it anyways.

if i was an artist i would let people download my shit

i dont care about the money as long as they can hear my music and enjoy it go ahead download it

Compose 02-28-05 06:52 PM

^no...money isnt my concern i only want respect from people...thats all the worth for me

Eternal 02-28-05 06:55 PM

actually im helping the industry... cuz i get the albums free... and people buy the album off me:D

Sean Gunner 02-28-05 07:20 PM

I don't download songs much anymore, because I just didn't feel like having to spend the time downloading it, then listen to it for a bit, then delete the song later for room on my PC. I just spend the money, put it into my CD case, and be done with it. I feel better bout myself too, if I was an artist in need of money I would just do concerts, let people download the music. That way all they get is the recorded version, to hear more they have to come to my concerts.

lil critter 02-28-05 07:31 PM

yeah but most of the artists dont need the money theyre just greedy for it. they wanna make their money but the cats in the hood that actually listen to their music are usually tryin to find anyway to save money they can cuz they dont have it. if they did then they wouldnt constantly be tryin to find a way out. and the cats on soundclick take the time to write record and produce their shit and then put it out there for free and they arent makin shit. theyre just lookin for respect from other people that support what theyre doin. and i also download the album to see if i like it and if its worthwhile i will buy it. if theyre artists that i have respect for then i am gonna buy the album regardless of if i have it or not before hand.

that is very untrue, most people in the industry are lucky to break even, hombre...hip hop may look like a lavish lifestyle but even a lot of decent names find it a struggle...i saw on sum show on much more music or sumthin bout the rap industy that ppl who go gold struggle to provide for their families

Shorty#1 03-01-05 04:53 PM

i dont download but i borrow burned or original cd's and burned them its the most beutiful thing you get it for free and dont worry if you gonna make money of rapping i am going to be da first one downloading it

MadProphet 03-02-05 01:04 AM

why the fuck would i waste my $15 on some monotonous non-lyrical repetative bullshit.
i BOUGHT beautiful struggle
i BOUGHT black on both sides
i BOUGHT streets desciple
i BOUGHT black album
i BOUGHT hunger for more

i BURNED encore (then threw it away)
i BURNED massace
i BURNED documentary

and plus i bunr underground cds cuz i cant buy them anywere in my city

piracy isnt killin the music, its rappers only seeing dollar signs...maybe if everyone stops paying for music it will stop being money orientated and go back to being about lyrics

MadProphet 03-02-05 01:07 AM

download "napster" by punch N words i think it is
