What really is a great rapper/emcee?
 

There are so many answers, but what is the true one?

being able to have dope, real lyrics. and still keep ya flow on point. thats the true one but thats not what people go by today.

dope lyrics, good flow and the ability to make you feel the music......

A great "rapper" is anyone who sells and makes hundreds of millions for their label and drives around in rented cars and wears rented jewelry. Originality is optional.

A great "emcee" is anyone who can move the crowd weather they're talking about something serious, or something fun. Originality is a must to be a great emcee.

Your a great Rapper, if you can take a shit on stage and throw it at the crowd, and some obsessive fan picks it up and takes it home and puts it in a mason jar, and labels it "(rappers name) shit" and brings it into show and tell.

some one similiar to grandmaster flash, BIG, eminem, etc.

someone who has charisma,flow,who can impress anytime,anywhere,who has a distinctive voice,who sounds confident,who can get a boring crowd back into action(but I think that goes with impress)...and someone who is ORIGINAL

in my opinion a great rapper/emcee is being able to sell millions an still keep it real take for instance nas yes he has his trl "videos" to get the suburban non hip hop lovin kids to buy the record but for us hip hop heads tha real tracks arent the ones shown on trl they tha ones with meaning combined with a great story real lyricist word...

versatility...not comin back with the same old shit..with sick lyrics...and maybe new rhyme schemes.......and a good flow

A great emcee is someone who comes consistantly with dope lyrics and flow.....anytime of the day will freestyle and it'll be sick even if they just fuckin around,they normally have the crowd on there side...and are known widely
