It was only 20 years ago, when the bombs exploded, determined to eradicate existence, given this charge by religious fanatics, misinterpreting scriptures and sacred texts. They manifested persecution into a terrible hatred and directed this malignant intent towards the United States. They initially struck in small ways, leveling a building here and there, causing a loss of life at every opportunity available. Yet their threats were largely dismissed. American government suppressed their greatest plans, to keep the public ignorant. The fanatics were angered at the apathy from the public. They were not taken seriously. They destroyed the world trades centers, and although that day forever lives in infamy, they were greatly displeased, for they were sustained on the terror of others. When the pain of the towers faded away, they were yet again discontented. They would fiend for other methods to employ to leave the public devoid of joy. Their desperate longing went many years without a solution. That is until the leading world scientists perfected antimatter containment. The fanatics rejoiced at the discovery, since they immediately realized the destructive power of such technology. They gathered their operatives, who were years out of active practice, but their skills remained intact. They raided the labs, bypassing many security measures. They gained innumerable pleasure from this successful endeavor. Now the culmination of their devastation could realize itself. They did further study on the new source of terror, and discovered its limits. An amount the size of a marble could destroy New York City. They were giddy with glee as schoolgirls at play. They wondered how much it would take to destroy the entire United States. Their calculations yielded a pleasant number, since they stole the research document for the material as well. They knew how to create the antimatter, and contain it permanently. They brought the matter into our reality, and assembled it into a palpable package. It was decidedly gigantic, but the damage it would inflict made it well worth the hassle, and kept them at distinct advantage. They stole an oil tanker and packed it with the freak not of our nature. The supposed energy source utilized by evil minds. They traveled to the states and prepared to alter the global fate…In ways they did not predict however…for their research required complete distance form all humanity…they did not see the news and hear the scientists speak. The way the researchers did plead with the thieves not to create more…for their calculations were incorrect and the energy source yielded so much more than originally thought. The amount they had could annihilate the world with as little as a thought…they were however already en route to their final destination. They said: “here we die, and incept a new generation”…

They released the antimatter…

In an instant the world flashed and disappeared…all that was left was drifting planetary remains…the deepest core of the earth remained unscathed…the ripples affected space, the reverberations traveled or many sound years…until an alien race perceived the disruption on their frequency radar. They traveled to the source to examine the cause. What they saw, left them astounded with pause…they shared the same thought, in psychic communication, roughly translated “this used to be earth; a masterpiece of creation…The Lord Himself said in the sacred texts that they were his best…”

They were also the worst…

Deserted masterpiece…a vestige of former glory…but when was the world truly deserted…was it really the bomb, or did the people desert themselves?... Sacrificing humanity at the sake of scientific advancement and unbridled hatred and aspirations of power…the human race was in shambles, killing each other, pursuing various sexual perversions…God may have simply cut his losses and allowed the destruction…

A masterpiece deserted….but which masterpiece, and who deserted…?
