Hypothetically
What if I told you I had a confession
What if my ex told me she was pregnant She said I have to accept the fact That I am te dad Would it be wrong for me to cover my tracks What if I got tested And when the results came back I surpressed it Cuz I wouldn't want that to mess wit Everything we worked so hard to build Would it be wrong for me to try and shield You from all of my past congressions But this is only part of my confession What if I said that I was a wanted man What if I said that I really did all that I can To try and stop what happened from goin down But I couldn't take it so all people heard was that gun sound What if I said that I wanted you to start a new life without me Cuz I want you and my kids to all be happy Hypothetically of course All of the things that are left unsaid Would you want to know instead Hypothetically of course Are there some wars not worth fighting Some tears not worth crying Hypothetically of course If all of this happened to you What would you want me to do What if we seperated for a short time About a year ago to look for a sign What if you sought comfort in someone kind What if you said to me you're not sure if the baby's mine What if you wanted me to stay Even when I thought it would be better for me to go Would it be wrong for me to walk away From the only family I know What if you said you needed a vacation But when you came back you said you had an irresistable temptation What if you confessed to me What was really happening Would it be wrong for me to pack my things And to tell you to give me my ring Hypothetically of course All of the things that are left unsaid Would you want to know instead Hypothetically of course Are there some wars not worth fighting Some tears not worth crying Hypothetically of course If all of this happened to you What would you want me to do Hypothetically of course If what we had to say Had the potential to break Up our happy home Would you still want to know Hypothetically |
