Visions On The Earth



Vehement deluges of rain streaming down from heaven’s gates
Precluding me from getting lost in careless, peaceful slumber
Yet I feel truly blessed for the fertile offspring the water creates
Even though forests are being destroyed and turned into lumber
Trees I used to climb in as if I overcame my biggest enemy
Are now being crushed like a little fly within my hand palms
How is it possible when the consequence is easy to foresee?
For we became more detrimental than all those nuclear bombs

A gentle, warm summer breeze exploring my smooth skin
So freely running into the open field of fresh golden wheat
Harmonious rustling of leaves as if someone playing the violin
Until the urbanization invaded and covered nature with concrete
Soon enough followed the cars filled with intoxicating gasses
That surround our Mother Earth with a smog, oh so blinding
Corrupting mental state, materialism appeals to the masses
Egoism used as tight chains, so uncomfortably binding

As I gaze into my innocent child’s deep blue, seeking eyes
Wonder what he will grow up to witness in this depraved society
Listening to gorgeous cosmos would’ve prevented our demise
But my son will learn on his own, won’t teach him anxiety
For there is still so much beauty in this world to discover
Such as a winter wonderland, pure lakes and moist sand
Although cruel wars circulate, I long for him to be a lover
All I want is for him to enjoy for darkness he can withstand
