I did this piece for a project at my school n obviously the topic wuz...


Do You See What I See?

I see... black kids jealous of one another
Then the next day have the audacity to act like brothers
I see... white kids taking care of business cuz they know
The fruits of their labor will later on show
I see... Mexicans commin ova and takin everyone's job
They work hard for their keep and you never see them sob
I see... stressin ova livin up to our parents' dreams
They have us on the highest pedistal or so it seems
I see... single mothers workin day and night
Dead beat dads that took that flight
OUtta the house and away from the kids and wife
Then wonda why the kids don't want him in their life
I see... hangin out on the streets
Drinkin, smokin, and sellin weed
I see... complaints ova everything commin from everyone
And the way they solve their problems is by pickin up a gun
I see... people capable of living a betta way
Yet they make the choice not to betta themselves each and every day
I see... young people with so much talent and skill
But they hang with the wrong crowd and their fate is eternally sealed

So... do you see what I see?
