Thats right. The dread thread... What do YOU dread most? being beaten? being hated? being caught cheating?

Ha what a gay thread that would be...

Anyway, I'm growing my hair long again and instead of braids im going to dread it... I'm looking for someone to backcomb it so I don't have to waste money going to a salon... But no one wants to do it.. ha..

ANYWAY, I was wondering if anyone else is gonna dread their hair, or if anyone had/has dreads... And if I could get some tips or give tips from what I know... Cats who don't have or want dreads probably won't understand, cos its more of a journey than a hairstyle.. Shit takes commitment..

But yeah the only other dude on RV who mentioned dreads to me was CJ..

I could never grow dreads. I like having clean hair too much.
Plus white folk with dreads aren't usually socially acceptable people
and are generally frowned upon. I.E. Hippies and Vanilla Ice when he
tried to re-invent himself.

Having dreads isn't unclean at all. Its the same as normal hair.

But nah white people with dreads arent frowned upon... A lot of people have them... A lot of surfies n' people like that... ya know?

One of my mates got deadies and he cut em out a week later cause he found a red back spider living in em.. (red back spider is a heaps poisonous spider in aus)

Yeah I know what a red back spider is -_- ... Ive killed like 4 of em..

That'd be dope though.... Unless it bit your scalp... Then you'd be kinda fucked..

I had braids for 4years and after about two years I could braid them myself
but to start out u will need someone to do it for you..

On of my boy's have dreads and he would just wash his hair normally with the
dreads still in.. Do know if that would work coz his hair aways looked to messy..

And in the UK white people have dreads I don't see the problem with it, and it
the same in St Lucia.

it all depends how you look with long hair.......some people were just meant to have dreads....i thought bout gettin them once, but they seem to be too much work to manange, and alot of the time im really lazy, lol.....but they're cool, a few peeps have them where im at, neighbour has em actually....

....lol at the spider, how the hell do you get a spider living in your hair, you're suppose to wash it everyday, haha

As long as you look after them properly shit shouldnt be a problem. You need to use residue free shampoo and dread wax regularly until they mature... Critic, ya friend was probably using a bad shampoo... And youre supposed to wash once a week, every 2-3 days at the most.. If you dont take care of em, they'll look shit.

Kesse: yeah word... Long hair just doesnt suit some people... But my hairs been pretty long all my life, and I was going to dread it, but then work had problems and said it was "unacceptable"... So now that im quitting soon, by the time my hair gets long again i'll be outta there.

dreadz looks dumber on white people, but i think dreads look gay as fuck on anybody, besides bob marley, he the only person who can rock dreads an get away with it lol.
