OUTKAST’S MOVIE: THE “PURPLE RAIN” OF HIP-HOP

The upcoming Outkast movie, “Speakerboxxx/My Life In Idlewood” is on the way and Big Boi gave BET.com the exclusive scoop on the flick.

Big Boi said, “The new movie is incredible. It's like an OutKast album, but it's a film. It's the next step for us. I can tell you that it's set in the Prohibition days. There's action, drama, funny as hell. It's going to be like Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' or 'Purple Rain,' it's like a cult following type film. Big Boi is acting! So I'm going to show people what time it is.”

In the movie, Big Boi plays the son of a hustler/club owner and partner Andre 3000 plays the son of a mortician who plays the piano. The film is almost like two stories running at the same time because the dynamic duo only has a couple scenes together. The movie is produced by Bryan Barber, who has been regarded as and unofficial member of the group.

Big Boi, who recently started a record label, said that he’s fishing through a sea of scripts, but isn’t convinced.

“I have scripts, but nothing that I want to do. I'm not going to shoot no bullshit movie just to say I was in a movie. I have a couple of roles that I am going to take at the end of the years, but yes, I am acting,” he said.

The musical has no release date at press time.

i would watch it as well but it woyld also be entertainin as well cuz it will have musicals
