Atlantic Records has signed Tego Calderón, the king of Reggaeton, to a label deal. The deal, which is through the artist’s own Jiggiri Records label, is one that both parties expect to span over a long period of time. The Atlantic Records debut is expected to be called The Underdog.
The Puerto Rico-raised Tego stated that he was ecstatic at the news. "This is a new stage in my life, and I am very excited about my venture with Atlantic Records," he said. "I have the freedom I have been looking for, and I am proud to have Atlantic's and Craig's support backing me up with a team that believes in me. For the first time, I feel like I have control of my career." Love it or hate it, the Reggaeton Underdog is on top.
