On lonely nights I WRITE
I WRITE in order to keep myself company
which in turn forces my paper to enjoy my pen's company

On rainy days I WRITE
I WRITE so that the joy that illuminates my soul
when I put my pen to the page will sweep dark clouds away

On sleepless nights I WRITE
I WRITE because the serene scene of seeing me vibe
while I scribe soothe's my soul to sleep

When I hate I WRITE
I WRITE so that the spite I'm feelin
will realease itself from my spirit

When I love I WRITE
I WRITE so that this love that I feel
will be portrayed thru pen and page as his ink caressess her paper

During times happy and sad I WRITE
I WRITE so that my feelings can be conveyed and displayed
onto this page which becomes a collage of my emotions

When I'm uninspired I WRITE
I WRITE with no thoughts fueling my pen's fire
giving it the opportunity to write it's own path

At all times I WRITE
I WRITE at all times so that within these lines
the lines of time don't get lost
So that the years that seem to pass at warp speed
and the seconds that seem to last an eternity
are captured with the stroke of my pen

I WRITE...FOR I AM A POET
