THE GAUNTLET

I been abandoned by the hordes, stranded by shores
Branded by the wars, just a man and his sword
Dripping the blood of a victim, but no remorse in me
It wasn’t my choice to be…I too was forced to bleed
They torched the trees of my birthplace, I was forced to leave
into a worse place, beaten and treated like I wasn’t worth grace
They tortured me, hoping that I’d be broke by the chambers
Provoked by the strangers, as I’d hang up soaked by the anger
Chambers were threshold dark, I’m envisioning my mind break
My flesh holds scars, they’re only conditioning my mind state
They didn’t want a sane man, the plan was form an insane clan
of animalistic killers of niggers for this cannibalistic thriller
I was the best at it, a flesh savage but I felt I had loss though
My thoughts froze…how do you define victory to a lost soul?
Survival isn’t victory, cause’ us survivors couldn’t free our seeds
Or say “We are free”—so victory’s defined as just a song by B.I.G
We mourn and produced few strong they knew we’d choose wrong
Though they didn’t like that plan, they let us loose as living proof
we’d fail without a righteous hand in the gauntlet…life of a black man
Now I see the light of the right path, but before I can speak…
I feel a knife to back…stabbed

holy shit dude, this could be a song lol, i was listening to to some instrumentals for this shit i am working on,but i read your poem to the beat and it was dope..nice emotion in this piece and vocab too..it is a strong piece, i was feeling it,1.i edited your post because i was going to feature it now, but since i only feature 3 at a time to leave room for others,i will feature this in a few days..1

this was nice, i like the emotion. i put this to the beat of ASAP, and it sounded pretty tight, just to see what MOON waz talkin bout, and it has some amazing flow. the vocab was an A+. i like the emotion bieng foreplayed. very deep.
