Anatomy of Crash
It happened so slowly yet it happened so fast, can that be
possible I sit here and ask. Car I didn’t see, out of nowhere a car broadsided me, next thing I know I smell smoke and my seat belt is jammed on my throat. Grab my keys I break the window, my hand tore up, shattered glass as a memento. I heard the crunch of metal bending, the incridescent shatter of glass a million breaking. Listening, smelling all my senses alive, but I was powerless to try and find the overdrive. Hit broadsided, I screamed outloud, tears rushed to my eyes as I went crashing down. My life flashed before me, my future I hadn’t yet seen, my past that was gone, and everything inbetween Everything was crystal clear, the oncoming car, white like a star, bore down on me hard I saw the driver’s face before the impact took place, eyes wide and terrified I prayed they had a fate. Hot liquid running down into my eyes, I wiped it away and blood was the reply. I climbed out of my car slowly but breathing, I fell on the ground scared and chest heaving. I heard the screams of the other driver, asking if I was alright and who’s fault it was. |
