HAHAHA..YES!!!!!! I finally figured this shit out

with this Pre amp I was using, I cudn't hear myself through the headphones until TODAY...

shit

all this time I been wonderin how to do it

u basically set ur volume control record AND playback setting to come through ur Pre AMP

then, in Cool Edit, u go to Device Properties and set it so that the WAVE in and OUT are through ur Pre AMP, and click that it can be used in the EDITING window...

Tha Q. 07-12-05 02:55 PM

damn...now I can't figure out how to play the beat through the same input as the vocals so that the speakers won't interfere with the recording

ugh

i have an 8$ mic, im telling you, its the way to go.. you dont have to deal with all that crap, i just click "record" and im good to go.

Tha Q. 07-12-05 02:59 PM

^^yea...but u can get much better quality with a 1/2 decent set up...so long as u edit and mix it correctly as well

damn yo..u took the hard way...all u had to do was go to sound devices...then click where the microphone is like some swtiches should come up then go to options then properties go to playback then turn the microphone volume up..lol..

and if ur talkin bout what i think u r...then go into multitrack view..u insert the beat right...then on the second track..just hit the lil R..click the record button...CEP will give u about 5 seconds to get ready then the beat will play...u record right to that beat instead ofplayin the beat in another program..

Tha Q. 07-12-05 03:19 PM

wow...my recording process just got a whole lot easier

and I love my Pre Amp cuz it lets me control the input and mixin levels...never knew how to use that shit until like 20 minutes ago

haaaa

actually...I got a Pre Amp for sale...I bought this Tascam but I don't use it...I use my M-Audio one instead

anyone interested?

[.:D:.] 07-12-05 03:23 PM

for how much?..

Tha Q. 07-12-05 03:27 PM

funny story...I got this new mic and ordered this M Audio from Sweet Water...They were taking too long to mail me my Pre Amp, so I went to a guitar store and bought this Tascam for 220 until the M-Audio came in. Once the M Audio arrived, I stopped using the Tascam.

I'd sell it for 150 or so.
