It’s a rainy day 50 degrees, and I’m sitting right in front of the TV
The end of the flickering lights when I change channels I stop to see
A family show…all so happy and a guy holding a baby in a way I see me
So many emotions going through my head…afraid cuz I’m only thirteen
All of a sudden I start to think…what went wrong, why did I do to deserve this
You can say this is much more than a curse it’s not like I worked to earn this
For every action there’s a cause involved and I was the one to be put upon it
My action…was that I forgot to pull back like a glock unclocked I busted
The phone rings…the lights went off…checked up on it and it said I missed a call
It was my girl…she’s keeping it and there’s no way she’ll change her mind at all

*The Shadow*

Patiently waiting…9 months to wait…slowly time passes on by I just can’t wait
Moving around I’m just so eager, so nervous, so happy just cant wait to see his face
Slowly turning side to side like the discomfort if I was sleeping in spring bed
But it’s just me fidgeting, so many curious things running through my head
I’m poking at a red wall…trying to get out…I can’t cuz I’m yet not a man
Cuz I’m waiting to be the new symbol of life as soon as I touch land
It’s been 8 months and I see nature at work slowly I start to see the bigger me
Wanting to one day follow his foot steps and walk in his shoes…soon this will be
1 minute and counting, all here is voices and a female now starting to scream
Out through the end of what I’ve seen to be a pit, lights shines on me and I can’t see

*Me*

My hand on the Plexiglas looking through the nursery window
Slowly I gain a smile on my cheek now thinking this isn’t so
I hear a subtle gentle cry, but from whom or what is it coming from
Then I see this baby, and I know it’s from what is my newborn son
A tear flows down my cheek into my mouth I detect the taste of salt
Not no more afraid of my childhood of coming to a sudden halt
My heart pounding of joy, now I’m waiting to hold him in my bare hands
Cuz I’m a raise him right so he can be a better man than I am
Now I’m so happy to hold something that at first I didn’t want to see
Teach him many thing as if he was the shadow that follows me
