Why do we have so many beliefs and Religions in this World!!
 

IS every1 confused of who created us?

And What is the significent of being birthed, growing up, eventually dying?

In other words, why do we live?

So whom we look up to? and Who created us?

religion is a weakness... its in human nature to find answers so looking to absurd suggestions of a overall creator just goes to show the amount of weakness that is in today's society. we look for answers and when we don't find them we make them up and con people into believing what we believe because we would like company and we are so sure that we are right on the topic...

Because what someone says one person may not agree, so they find people who believe like them, then start a new belief.

And Religion in itself is a weakness, but the belief in God is strength.

Im not really sure, and frankly at the moment I dont really care. If some amazing thing happens to me that makes me believe in God then so be it.

DV: You can believe in God without being part of a religion. The bible is considered a historical document, not some religious book meant only for christians. Christianity as a religion may have been changed over time... It HAS been over 2000 years... And people usually exploit the blind eyes we often adopt when becoming part of a religion... (eg. medieval catholocism) So sometimes its more safe to develop your own views and beliefs.

well... having a strength is a paticular item or aspect of religion can be beneficial tot he individual ... on a moral level it can give the person a sense of direction which is understandable because we all are looking foor direction

Cuz Christianity and Religion are different. Religion is a set of rules which you follow, and how you act at church or something. Christianity is the belief in God and his word. People confuse these so much that they became the same thing.

I wish I could remember how some dude explained it. :(

it seems that once again mankinds understanding of nature around us and it's nature is too limited to comprehend certain things so we find the easiest, most convenient way of explaining things. That's where religion comes into things. They use this as a method of answering questions, religions their technical scapegoat...

as in to say......example:

if we take a look at those people who were in the right place at the right time to avoid being killed in the world trade centre, a non religious man would say it's down to the circumstances, but the religious man wants to look deeper into it without being able to accept the concept of co-incidence because his perception of life's clouded by his faith, and he'll therefore try and say God saved him....

Faith can't create something that isn't there....it just means you're hoping there is

For example you can have blind faith that one day you'll win the lottery and end up playing it every week hoping that you will win, and maybe you won't win...so maybe just maybe having faith in winning is just a waste of time and you just have to get on with your life.

the funny thing about religion is that back in ancient times the greeks, romans, egyptians and other ancient civilisations had their countless Gods to explain concepts they didn't understand but we can look back and be able to explain the things that ancient civilisations weren't able to.......

So how do we know that in the future, mankind will hold the answers to the things that we don't currently understand and so use God as an answer to...............

we are the result of evolution..
in my opinion, there is no god..
so theres no-one to look up to..

If you ask me, theres no "meaning of life" ... And religions are scary as fuck. The idea that when I die my life will go on forever and not just stop is wierd...

Maybe death is like eternal sleep... and you're just dreaming the whole time. And those "near death experiences" were just dreams or something. Ya never know.

But christianity doesnt even make sense when you think about it. Bhuddism makes the most sense. But I aint about to become a bhuddist.
