Stanza (3-5) vs. Lady Fiyah (0-2)
Battles up Monday - Check In by Wednesday - Drop by Friday - Votes by Sunday No line limit and the battler with most votes by Sunday night is the winner. If this is a topical battle, write a topical and not a poetic drop and the same is vice a versa. All Battlers must vote on 4 other battles and leave their voting links in their battle thread. Battles voted on may be from either poetry or topical battles. If vote threads aren't in your battle thread by sunday you will suffer a loss by Disqualification. Extensions must be asked for by Thursday night by pming any of the mods (Acuity, Drama Queen & Elementality). No extensions will be given 4 if asked 4 on Friday night. Extensions are only given till Sunday night at the most. If you dont ask for an extention, and drop whenever you feel like it you will be Disqualified. Do not abuse extentions, they are not to be used if you're just too lazy to drop within the confines of the circumstances. Leave reasonable explanation for your absense. If the League notices you are a slacker due to this nature you will be banned for being out-right slothfully callous. Every battler must nominate (not their own) one topical and poetry battle for pieces of the week, in the main forum. People with pieces of the week shall have their drops stickied and placed in the Pieces Of Inspiration sub forum Don't ho-show because you will be banned if you do it twice. We can understand you cannot drop due to certain circumstances but if this happens a second time, you're banned from the league for 2 weeks. If you signed up for both leagues and you no-show in one league twice, you will be banned in both leagues! Try to limit the freeposts, we will have a chat/beef thread for that. There is no such thing as a secret, it is simply a word for trust But you know it, so it’s a conscious agreement, quiet’s a must Then you go and make others lust for something so unimportant And quite irrelevant to their own lives, no matter how you word it But is it seriously worth it?! Stanza:
Decent verse, i didnt see much imagery but the emotion was good. Decent wordplay and vocabulary. Your verse could have been better, the verse was semi original. In some places you were creative, in other places you didnt really bring anything new to the table. Still a decent topical. Overall: 6.2/10 Lady Fiyah: You had an ok verse, i really didnt get the first part of it and why you did it like that, your verse was basically 6lines to me and nothing more. This was an easy topic in my eyes so you should have wrote more and been more descriptive. I think you didnt try for this verse and it shows. Overall: 3.1/10 Vote: Stanza |
Stanza: not a very creative approach but you worked it out pretty nicely, no imagery but emotion was there. Vocab was good, used nice examples to express what you were saying, direct situations, not only theory. Flow was okay, could have elaborated a bit more here and there, give more details or a more personal approach but overall solid drop.
~Lady Fiya~: had a more creative and poetic approach but you should have made it longer in my opinion, it had potential but you didn't quite get it all out there. The emotion was strong, no imagery though, vocab was on point, flow was decent. The first part was nice intro but it doesn't really count as a topical verse I think. Vote goes to Stanza, LF's verse had potential but didn't quite work out... |

Stanza, your verse almost put me to sleep. Not original and nothing that exceptional. You had a decent verse though. Emotion and imagery was ok. Fiya, I liked yours, but you go into enough depth. Had it been 10 lines longer you probably would have won. But, too short to beat stanza. Your wording was blah too. |
i honestly forgot i had this battle.. then i noticed and rushed and wrote what i could in a short amount of time.. lol.. I give it to Stanza no need for any more votes..
