Big Pun’s Family Launches Clothing Line
Members of the family of Big Pun (real name Christopher Rios) have launched BigPunShop.com to coincide with the launch of Big Pun Clothing Line, which currently consists of several t-shirt designs bearing the late rapper’s image. Pun’s wife, Lisa Rios, has stated in interviews that she has only received $8,000 since her spouse died of a heart attack in 2000. In an online auction of the rapper’s gold Terror Squad chain, a statement read, “Since Pun's untimely passing in 2000, Pun's wife has struggled to raise their three children as well as make mortgage payments on their home and other expenses. Contrary to what some believe, the family is far from [being] millionaires. Pun's wife and children do not receive royalty checks for Pun's first two albums, and only one small royalty check was paid for Pun's final album. The family's attempts to get the money due to his children have been unsuccessful to date.” The family says that all profits from the Big Pun t-shirt sales will go to the rapper’s children.
