Hell yeah.....peronsals all the way.Not many people use the personal here.I see too many generic verses that could be directed to anyone.
But it's good to combine wordplay/metas with peronals. LOok at Nas ether....str8 personal diss. |
a mix of the two is nice...nas-ether is definition of that n i love that track altho pac's hit em up was str8 personals n disses and dats raw....meh i dunno..if i had 2 choose id say clever punchlines tho

definitely personals n str8 disses, i mean i read sum battles n disses and theyre talkin about their opponent couldnt shoot this or kill that n ur like so what!? whats that got to do with the battle at hand? lol but of course a combination of both is preferable but a lot of ppl cant pull that off so its btr to jus hit em hard wit personals.

i think personals are nice but only when mixed well with punches... str8 disses aren't always best and hard hitting, Ether in my opinion is the exception because most people didn't know the personals Nas were using against Jay Z before the diss.. Now if he used the same personals as someone else did, i.e. how this site does with CALI and the Wendy's jokes, the shit is played and then it would be wack.. nothing special...

well..i felt Ether was mostly personals...while Takeova was wordplay with some personals...
i preferred Takeova mostly cuz Imma Jay fan but I like usin personals cuz it allows u to vent anger...I haven't figured out how to vent raw emotion using clever punchlines if I did...I'd be unstoppable ^^if I may say so myself hehee |

personals ARE punchlines, they're just directly to the person instead of something more generic...
my preference is personals and some clever wordplay because to me, that's what takes the most skiLLs and finese and hits hardest...most people don't know how to use punchez correctly at their opponent without talking about themselves and how much better they are than their opposition...especially people online with this text bullshit...most people's punchez revolve around gun-play instead of word-play and things that reQuire actual skills to incorporate... |
