50 Cent w/ Quincy Jones
 

Quincy Jones has recently signed on to score the music for 50 Cent's new movie Get Rich or Die Tryin'.

Get Rich or Die Tryin' is loosely based on 50 Cent's journey from a drug dealer to a rap star. Jones will be composing the film's score, working alongside 50, director Jim Sheridan, and composers Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer. 50 will also be writing songs for the film.

Quincy Jones is a musical icon that has been nominated for seven Oscars. In addition to his scores for such films as In the Heat of the Night, In Cold Blood, The Italian Job, The Wiz, and The Color Purple (which he also co-produced), he also wrote "Soul Bossa Nova" aka the Austin Powers theme sampled in Ludacris' "Number One Spot."

Jones is also recognized for publishing Vibe Magazine, producing the television series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", and writing the theme songs for "Sanford and Son" and "The Cosby Show."

Get Rich or Die Tryin' starring 50 Cent and scored by Quincy Jones hits theatres November 11th.
