Sir Mix A Lot gets remixed....lol
Sir Mix-A-Lot’s 1992 hit “Baby Got Back” took pop music by storm and the ode to the Black woman’s derriere was subsequently banned from daytime MTV. Now, more than a decade later, Target department store has now adopted the risqué song for its fall back-to-school campaign. The G-Rated update transforms the rap verse, “I like big butts and I cannot lie” to “I like backpacks and I cannot lie.” The cleaner version has already drawn the ire of some bloggers but Target representatives told The New York Post that the ads are marketed to parents that fondly recall the song, not to children.
