who is he reffering to?

LoL...this is old....it's Jay-Z...the time this song came out...it was right after JAy retired...he's reffering to Jay-Z.

but notice that he says best rapper ALIVE, not best active rapper
jay-z's still alive, so maybe "retired" really means "died"

no it doesnt, if jay was the best rapper alive, and wayne was second, then jay retired, wayne would still be the 2nd best alive because jay's still alive... w/e

HE's the best alive since the best retired.....meaning Pac and Big(or anyone dead) may be better than Wizzie...but they dead..
