recording studio
okay, i've saved up a small amount of money an i'm looking into starting a small recording studio just for my personal use. the problem is i have no clue what to buy. i know i have to buy things like micropones and stuff but i don't know what else i need like programs for the computer and sound equipment. can someone help me out? i hope it's not too much trouble. thanks

all i know is that you'll need a mic..preferably a condensor..i think those are good..with the mic you need a stand and a pop filter..you'll need either a pre amp or an interface to connect the mic to your computer..some good headphones would be good..and umm possibly cool edit or audobe audition i guess..thats all i know

How Much Money You Actually Got To Spend
|
Iight, for under 200 u can get started wit an ill setup. cop a behringer mixer, preferably 10 track. then cop a mxl mic for 60 bucks, it comes wit stand and pop filter now. super deal at musicians friend. grab some headphones u have layin around and download a copy of cubase sx. and voila a professional soundin studio has begun. Make sure watever mixer u get, has preamps. and make sure to buy all the wires necessary to connect ur peripherals together.

how do i know if i need a preamp or an interface? also what kind of pop-filter should i get. i'm not even sure what it's used for so i don't know which to get.
yeah i'm gonna have more questions so don't go away........ |
you won't need an interface unless ur usin protools. a pop filter is something dat keeps ur P's from going boom. u'll need preamps no matter wat. unless ur doin karaoke.
