This Week Top Charts
Sweeping through the charts claiming the top seat at #1 is Kanye West. Late Registration moved its way to the top of the crop in its first week. With his sudden outburst during the NBC live concert for Katrina relief, his sales boosted up. According to Nielsen's Soundscan, Kanyeezy pushed a little over 904,000 copies in its first week.
Respectively following at #2 is G-UNIT's own-Tony Yayo. Yayo's debut release, Thoughts of a Predicate Felon is following the guerilla tradition of putting up big numbers. First he dropped "So Seductive" and now he's followed up with his next single "Curious/Pimpin" which is currently killing the airwaves. Yayo's debut sold 214,687 LPs after one week on the shelves. Holding down the 6-spot is The Black Eyed Peas. The Peas continue to phunk up the charts with their Monkey Business. Another week has passed and the Peas are still in the top 10. This week the Peas moved 83,747 records. In total they sold 1,292,694 copies. Further down at #11 is Young Jeezy with Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101. Over the past few weeks, Jeezy has shown and proved how much of a soul survivor he is. Jeezy's debut album sold an additional 64,354 records this week pushing its total to 515,496 units. Next up in the 24th place is Bow Wow. "Like You" is still on the favorite list of many Hip-Hop and R&B heads. His latest release is slowly but surely approaching gold status as it remains in the top 50. Bow added 40,518 CDs to his total of 454,768 albums. Four slots down at #28 is Diplomat capo Jim Jones. His sophomore solo album Harlem: Diary Of A Summer took a 54% dip this week. In its second week Jimmy sold 34,574 copies. The Dipset general's sales stand at 110,333 LPs to date. Taking over the 32nd seat is the Ying Yang Twins. The Twins' U.S.A. (United States of Atlanta) remains in the polls for another week. This week, the Twins sold 29,229 records. Thus far their numbers tally at 639,342 copies. Who Is Mike Jones? sold 26,862 copies this week, totaling 1,057,434 CDs. Grabbing the #20 is The Massacre. 50 Cent has consistently been in the top 50 since March. The Massacre clocked an additional 24,790 units this week. To date, sales round off at 4,303,422 copies. In closing, slipping down to the 43rd place is Missy Elliott's The Cookbook. Despite a 3% drop, the album is still warming up the racks with 21,410 additional LPs this week. The Cookbook has pushed 457,601 units thus far. Next week, check for K. West's Late Registration to remain at the top of the charts along with new releases from Paul Wall and Little Brother among others. |

kanye sold over a mil the first day... i know that... cuz people pre-ordered and shit.. and it was said before so hes def sold over 900 000 cuz he went platinum in 1 day....
