When someone says, "I'm going to the studio..."
 

Do you ever think they're just frontin...like, they're jus goin over their mans house who has a nicer mic than they do...

so, what exactly is a studio?

Isn't a studio just a place (room or building) that houses recording equipment?

So, technically, can't I and everyone here claim they have a "studio" for better or worse. I realize that my studio is small and inexpensive compared to professional recording studios, but isn't it a "studio" nonetheless.

I ask because some cats here say "I went to the studio."

well i owulndt consider my room a studio even tho i got a bothh a condenser mic and all that jazz....most poeple call there at home studios the "LAB" atleeast i do......and ive never been to a studio before but im going to one......

i agree...most people are probably frontin....i guess some could be going to a professional studio though...like pay by the hour to use it...most peeps just talk shi though...

If they call a room in which they record a "studio", then say they're going to the studio, I don't see how that's considered frontin' and talking shit.

Better sound quality. And quite frankly, I'd rather have my music arranged and edited by someone with experience and knows what their doing, not one of my friends who's been using Cool Edit for a few months and thinks he's Kanye or something.

yea i mena i would go for free but its not that better sound quality....nope not at all

you spend mor emoney personally buying stuff but once you got a decent amount of sutfff then your all good......

and my friends and i can use PRotools pretty well now so i dont know about you i would never pay to go to the studio.............not worth it......

Well all I know is I can't get my songs mastered in my friend's basement.

lol word we are learning how to master.......lol one of my friends friends is teaching us....

so we will no how to do that........and who wants to pay $50-$100 for an hour in a studio.....i know i cant get a song done in an hour........

well maybe if i had it written and memorized before i got there....

The most I've seen a studio for in my area was around $30 an hour. I'm about to start going to a $25 studio, might be able to get a discount too.

I write all my shit before even considering recording it. No point in rushing creativity.

yea i wirte the majority of my stuff some is freestyle some times..........

and yea icve seen a cheap studio for $30 but they dont have a mic too much better than mine.............and i got a booth at my house so a studio to me is point less

and believe me you will find a $50 an hour studio and see what the differnce is.....

well technically..anything can be a studio ...just need a mic and computer and the proper equipment and there u have it..your own HOME studio..BUT...its not really hard to believe niggas when they say that cuz i mean all u need is money to go record some shit in a REAL studio. not hard at all..But it has happened numerous of times when niggas claim they going to the studio n what not. but i mean its nothing to lie about who cares where you record at just as long as its recorded and its you.
