So I Just Worked Out 1st Aid Is DOPE IF YOU KNOW IT!!!
 

This morning at work (where i'm at now) one of our colleagues came upstairs and he looked quite pale...my mum asked if he was ok and he said he had pins and needles down his left side of his body (something he's had before seeing he has a history of heart problems)

Anyway...he didn't look to good and was lookin for the NHS direct number but my mum phoned fo an ambulance instead coz he was lookin quite ill and i sat him down on a chair phoned my boss to let him know this guy was goin to hospital and while i was on the phone he started passing out.

So i hung up the phone had to lay him down (which in all honesty i should have done in the first place coz it says to do that in 1st aid which i've had courses on hence the thread) and put him in the recovery position...i then kept telling to open his eyes and try and keep talking to me but he was going in and slightly out of conciousness...but i managed to keep him awake for the paramedics to get there and do their thing...

so all in all...i thought i'd never need to use 1st aid...but i'm lucky i know what to do and today proved it... :thumbup:

He's at hospital now...gotta wait for his brother (who works here as well) to find out how he is...coz obviously hospital won't release any details to non-family members...

lol jus had a call to get his brother to pick him up...but i heard he has a problem with his heart coz his ex stabbed him...and there's a tear in his heart as a result

Yeah first aid is cool.. I know first aid.. I never do shit in bad situations unless im the only one there though.

Cos people are gay. If you accidently do more damage to them, they can sue you. Its total bullshit. Like once this guy was drowning, and someone around that new first aid swam in, got him out of the water, laid him down, did CPR, and saved the guys life. He thought shit was all fine and dandy, but the first aid guy broke a couple of the drowning guy's ribs during the compressions. The dickhead drowning guy sued the guy who saved his life, because he broke his ribs...

how fucked is that.

Yeah but over in the UK...if you are actively trying to save a life and you break a couple of ribs...as you could during chest compressions, the law over here protects you from being sued in that event (our 1st aider told us that)...also if you have to cup a womans breasts coz of the recovery position (some womens breasts are too big and make the movement difficult and uncomfortable) you have to move them with the BACK of your hand because if she comes round and you got a hand full of her tits in ya palm...she'll A panic coz she thinks she's being molested...and B she can sue..and win...but yea the laws fucked up there but us Brits got that sorted lol...

I dn't get the point of long ass courses that you have to take on it

word im certified in first aid too
ive never had to use it though, we had to get CPR for school and there was an optional First Aid course, so i took it..
shitll def help in the long run, something more people should probably learn
