not really distilled, why worry about how many ppl on a site hear it, when u could spend the same amount of time promoting your music properly and getting people hearing you on radio e.t.c??? for example, when my music gets played on hhbradio.com on average at any one time there are anywhere between 200-500+ listeners, that took 30 minutes of my time approaching the owner and in the right manner, and that got me any tracks sent to him get played on radio, a couple of spots on the hhb radio mixtape along side some of the biggest names in UK hip hop along with other up n comers, so basically that gets me atleast 200 people hearing my music everytime it gets played, then theres conspiracyuk.com again over 200 listenrs at a time, i approached jabbathakut, not only does he spin my shit on there, but he also spins it in the clubs, even when hes supporting people like lady soveriegn, jehst, klashnekoff e.t.c, that also got me linked up with the owner of his label, cut above records, which in turn hooked me up with free beats, an E.P with the owner/producer(dyversity) released on cut above records aswell as doing an exclusive track for the cut above compilation CD, then theres promoters for events e.t.c.... that takes either an email of a phone call, get details for sending a demo and bam.

i can guarantee he will have speant the same amount of time i did doing that, but he just got heard a few times on the internet, i put in the same work and get heard on online radio stations, aswell as in the clubs, offline stations and in clubs performing, its all on where your prioroties are

The world of music, is the above mentioned. The backbone of the industry is in todays world, soundclick type sites where artists are able to get there speals across to other people, to get there style heard in what use to be impossible unless you got signed by a lable. So ya, basically, it does mean jack shit. Maybe not to you, but this is the begining of something new in the music industry.

Ol' wack ass kids finally gettin' some attention nation wide is meaningless, yah. Bitter ignorance is one of the main things holding people back, i'm all for the underground sound gettin' heard.

Let me reiderate, im not saying the ranking system means anything, by anymeans. Hope I didnt portray that.

Ok, leady just talked a load of shit about internet radio.. So here is something actually worth taking into consideration...

Your not wrong... And its good for artists to get a tiny bit of listeners through the internet aswell. But the internet is people spread over vast areas. Which isnt a buzz. What you get is a situation where, peeps will hear your music but not talk about you off the net because they dont expect any of their friends to be even remotly aware of your existance and unless your something over the top and literally on some real hot shit... People aint gonna go to any real trouble to tell anyone about your music...

What you need to be doing is not worrying about singular people over the internet hearing your music. What you need to do is to begin locally. Start getting out there and being heard around the area you live in.. Do some market research, find out what people want to hear, generate a product that is professional sounding and really fresh, new and individual. And attack that shit full force and work your way onto radios, get your tapes being cranked all over town etc etc etc

That way you will be creating a real buzz and not just.... "some shit I seen on the net".... Cause while its best to do a mixture of both these days... The cats that jus hear you on the net.........And exactly doing you much good realistically...
