Aight, I'm going to say this now, this is without a doubt one of the best movies I have ever seen. With that said, here is the review.

Golden Review of King Kong

I missed the beginning (the first 15 minutes), but from what I heard, I didn't miss much other than music. Now, the opening I saw is a director in the 1950's running away from some people we find out to be from the studio. Apparently this man owes them money. The basic story is the classic we all know and love. The wanna be director finds this beautiful young woman and promises her all these things, and they get on a ship and head off. Well they find 'Skull Island' and Carl Denham (Jack Black) decides to go onto this island for footage for the movie they are filming. While on the island they have an experience with the natives, dinosaurs, and of course, our big lovable friend, Kong. Well, Denham then decides to try and capture Kong to make money, not daunted that many of his crew is either hurt or worse. They stick to the original story basically, so the story is rock solid.

The graphics of this movie are absolutely stunning. They are so realistic I felt like I was in their situation, and to top it off, the acting was not cheesy. There were a few scenes where Naomi Watts (Ann Darrow) and Kong just stare at each other for about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. After the 3rd scene of this it got rather cheesy. Other than that, the acting was good. I felt their fear, their pain, and their joy. This movie is one of Jack Black's top performences. The beasts looked very real and moved like I would imagine them to in prehistoric times. Though there are a few minor details that only a very serious movie critic would care about. (Dinosaur facts and ish).

Overall, this movie is a must see. All the hype that built on it was not misleading. It has everything a movie must have to be successful, and then some. The acting is superb, visuals are stunning and unbelievably realistic, directing is well done as well. This movie is definately DVD worthy, and will probably be one to watch with your girlfriend/or boyfriend. It has action, romance, gore, comedy, everything you want in a good proportion.
