Whats your vocal editing process?
So for the small pockets of time I get to record latly.. I been messing round with loads of settings and filters to try and tweak my set up to get the best sound possible.. But I'm not ill at it yet...
What I'm doing at the moment consists of Noise reduction, dynamics processing, antaries mic modeler set to AKG3000, normalising.. A 'tight and close' reverb usually and the occaisional graphic & parametric equalising filter before I mess with the high, medium and low eq levels and do a click/pop eliminator filter... I dunno whether thats good/bad/toomuch.. I guess thats partly what I'm here to find out... So whats your process? |
I think I sent you mine in a notepad file. word.

Download Waves Plugin
And When You Get It use Noise Reduction Then On Waves go To C4 4 Band Noise Reducer Then C4 Again Click 2 Band Noise Reducer Then C1-Comp Click HF Noise Reducer Then C1 Go To Gates Then Classic Gate Then DO Your Normal Vocal Editing After |
I record my vocals in MONO
mix down I run "Amplify Center Wave" then, Run Noise Redux, settings at 95/40 Run Click/Pop eliminator after that I convert back to STEREO Then, I run a "De-esser" that's in a Wave Platinum Plug in called "Male Wide" de-esser Then, I run a compressor on it in Dynamic Processing, settings are from the "Alcatraz" process After that, I run graphic EQ "vocal boost" on it, but from the "Alcatraz Process" Then, I "NORMALIZE" my vocals under "AMPLITUDE/NORMALIZE"...settings at 80 (70-80 is good) Finally, I amplify once more 2-3 decibels I save that file. Then, in Multitrack, I adjust the EQ to (H) 4-5, Lo (1.2) and M (-2.4) That's for my MAIN vocals... I have other processes for my dubbed verse and my hook 1 |
i record my voice and paste it on a beat no editing no nothing

Well being 'straight gangsta' must be an excuse for stupidity...

HMM I used this on a Computer mic and make it sound like a condenser
1.Noise Reduction - use noise reduction....select a part of the wave with nothin on it and press record. Then go to noise reduction then get profile from selection Then click OK. Then select where your vocals are on the wave select them then do noise reduction on them 2.Dynamics Processing - Chose the one that sounds the best. play it by ear 3.Pan/Expand - Mastering With 4.Reverb - Tight and Close or Nice Pressence 5.Graphic Equalizer - You gotta play it by ear again 6.Parametric Equalizer - You gotta play it by ear again 7.COOL EDIT WAVES - RCL Compressor play it by ear again 8.Click/Pop Eliminator - go too get profile from selection and then click ok YUP..thats what i do |
