Everyone has experienced it. You work hard on a song and post it with high hopes that it's the best track you've ever done. Then, Johnny "know-it-all" comes in and quickly brings you back down to reality. Maybe it's your quality that's lacking, or your mixing. Perhaps your flow is good, but you suffer in the "emotion" department. In either case, you feel flustered and frustrated that you're hearing the same "gripes" about your work in every track. Well, here's the solution. ELEVATE!

Before I learned to mix and got good equipment, I used to hear, "Q, you have a good flow but your quality is awful. When you improve your quality, you'll be dope." That angered me because, at the time, I didn't know how to fix what people were talking about. I didn't understand EQ'ing and editing beyond rapping over a beat. Then, when I got my quality somewhat straightened out, I heard, "Q, you can flow, but your delivery is bad and you lack emotion." Now, that's the criticism that nearly drove me up a wall! What in the hell was emotion? How could I improve delivery? I started listening to rappers who had good "emotion" and resolved to fix what was lacking. I came to the conclusion that "emotion" on track doesn't mean rapping like you have Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity-Disorder, rather it meant being expressive with the inflections and pitch in your voice.

The point is, rapping and elevating is a never-ending process of trial and error. So, instead of throwing hissy fits when people give you constructive feed--the operative word being CONSTRUCTIVE--use it to better your techniques.

WERD..... theres always gonna be an area of skill you gotta build in ... and grow... if any one believes that theres no room for improvement... then they wont get better... or grow as an artist.... werd... people gotta learn to take constructive criticism...

yea but too many people get the idea stuck in the head that they better than everyone and anyone period and just go around talking shit and not giving that true response that constructive critcism that helping hand 2 a fellow musician...people's ego's so big they need a roof 2 fit'em in...now you all know the percentage of people who do reply are rival crews or people who just out rite talk shit 4 no reason everyone get to stupid with shit like reign,y's,omb,osb,9th degree,mentalz,so on and so on they forget the principle of these rap forum's ya know they get blinded by hate and instead of giving that constructive criticism they just criticize people especially a lot of these old heads on here who been on the site since the last dinner of christ and as soon as a newbie enters instead of doing the shit that was done 2 them so they can elevate they just talking shit like you suck get off this site and shit like that instead of fulfilling the whole purpose of these rapsites 2 help each other elevate and get/be better with they rhymes...i mean take me for instant a lot of u think i just talk shit and im dat person but in all true reality i came on here from the begining just wanting 2 do my music but a select few got 2 cocky and pissed me off and now dats y u see a shit load of threads about me i dont want attention like that u kno i jus want wut every1 else wants help from fellow on coming emcee's but a lot of people rather start and deal with stupid pointless net beef instead of doing they thing with they music drop a few constructive lines 2 peeps and bounce n e ways i kno ya'll dont like my essays but hey i got a lot 2 say dats y i write music feel me?
