Knowledge is comprehension. Knowledge, as applied to a term, is the set of attributes implied by the term. The comprehension of 'square' includes being 4-sided, having equal sides and being a plane figure. This set of attributes constitites a pattern.

Knowledge requires patterns to hold it; cultural, religious, scientific, certain brain structures. Patterns are containers for knowledge, they shape it. How many stones are their in a field? Raw data( including unconscious knowledge) is information as it is gathered, epistemic knowledge. Everyone observes the same thing. Human perception is itself said to interpret information. At the unconscious level, this info could be called knowledge.

On the conscious level, there is interpretation. Conscious knowledge is the knowledge we talk about, it is linguistic knowledge. It is usually the knowledge we speak of as being true or false. For some, everything larger than two feet is a stone, not a rock. I know there are stones and rocks in the field. Knowledge is what is true for us, until it is'nt. So you could say knowledge is belief, because everything you think you "know," you believe.

actually, i think knowledge is less important than intelligence. intelligence relates to all parts of life and is always important, but... knowledge isnt always somethin thats important

Terumoto 02-03-06 09:40 PM

uhh.. without knowledge, we wouldn't even know about intelligence.

Knowledge is knowing you know nothing.

Knowledge comes before intelligence.

If you are implying that you cant know something without intelligence, then you're wrong. Animals know how to hunt... doesnt mean they're intelligent. Or does it? Language is flawed -_-

If you're not implying that, then your statement has nothing to do with anything... Its like me saying "without intelligence, you cant understand the concept of molecular biology and genetics"... its obvious.

i wouldve put knowledge in the category of the raw data (ie what a circle looks like) with intelligence, being our interpretation of said knowledgen (ie is that shape a circle)
but to, me theyre methods conciousness
liike terumoto sed "On the conscious level, there is interpretation."
so obviosly i know what it is to me but i wanna know what it is to toher people and their feelings of the power that knowledge holds over the physical
cos as well all know knowledge is power, whether its somethin simple like the ability to create fire, or to decode a file theres power in that data
