Is it possible to get aggression out on wax without...

resorting to dissin', gansta, or violence?

Y'all know I'm trying to be more conscious in my raps now. But, what J. Carolina said might happen is happenin. I really like rapping about deep topics and how God is constantly blessing me. I feel great after laying down one of those tracks. But, so much can bring you down it starts to compile. Then, after a while, I have so much pent up anger and aggression I have to let it out. Consicous rap doesn't allow me to vent that aggression. Are there examples of rappers (famous or underground) who appear to have accomplished what I'm asking about, remaining conscious without being aggressive?

No, that's part of the history of preists. It has nothing to do with releasing agression.

can't get agression out unless you let aggression in. Why focus on aggression to feel good when I can focus on my goals, which makes me feel WAY better anyway?

aiyo bro...you and I are on the same thing right now...I was just talking about this the other day. I was saying how certain things are upsetting, but that they don't always have to take you to a place you don't wanna go. The fact is, no one can go through life without experiencing ANY anger. However, most things aren't even worth getting riled up over. I was just asking about those times you do experience anger. How do you vent on track without it being aggressive, rather assertive. Or, is that the nature of rap?

Actually mention that you're trying to hold it in. Rap about the situation, but don't be specific. And plus just SAYING it angry is good enough. Doesnt matter what you say. Your voice tone is like a subtext to what you're saying. The words are the outline and the tone is the color and shit. kthxbye

I can see that it's easy to live a life that's completely free of anger. Ghandi did it. Mother Theresa did it, as well as Buddah and Jesus and countless other individiuals we haven't heard of yet. Anger is an emotional response to a lack of undertanding. When you fully understand why things are happening the way that they do, nothing becomes upsetting because it's always working exactly the way it should and you come to expect and even predict that. If it's rainy outside and you slip while walking down the sidewalk, what made this happen? What's responsible for your impromptu attempt at acrobatics? The rain? The sidewalk? The shoes? Gravity? Nope. "You know what, I KNEW it was raining out and I KNOW that means it can be slippery, and KNEW that this could happen - but I still did nothing about it." After that, it's impossible to be upset at your clothes being wet, or you being sore, or anything else involved in the experience because that's what happens when you slip. And why'd you slip? Because you let your self slip.

The spark of "Feeling Good" for the rest of your life starts after you realize why you don't slip anymore. Everything in life is at your control.
