Phenom's thought for the year on 'The Lyricists Lounge'

Jus thought I would make a quick comment on what I view to be an amazing need for self reassurance in the 'LL'. It seems every thread that I have viewed in the last few days was a) someone offering an opinion about someone's 'personality', etc, assuming their opinion matters to anyone besides themself, or b) someone biting the exact same idea, in hopes that their general opinion of everyone would be accepted, or c) a self justification thread, in which someone tries to prove there self-worth because of something they did/saw/own/said.

Now, of course, this thread itself could be viewed the exact same as any of those I've listed above, and I don't expect anything different than hate from the people who made the original threads I'm talking about. I just always thought hip hop and battling in particular, to me, was about self worth, confidence, and no need for others reassurance. It was about not giving a fuck about what other people thought, and just doing what you do in art form. It was being your own person, destroying someone as hard as you could, and then looking for someone else to do the same thing to. Now, if someone doesn't rub your back, and give you a cookie after you tie your own shoes, kids wild out in a need for attention.

Wow. how things have changed.

We just don't have anything to talk about really. No one is doing anything interesting, and even if they are, they get hated on for posting it.

...it's just dying. :\

Ok, for the last time, RV is not dying. Dying means that no one new comes the site and that all the heads leave. RV is growing, new people are on here everyday, but then people hate on them and they leave. Instead of helping newbs we discourage them like we are better than them as a person.

If we help people instead of just hate on them, then the site would be perfect. But as it is, if we don't change, RV's future is fucked.

I tend to battle on other sites now cause no one battles/votes here no more.

And when people do vote people just bitch about it.

Yeah RV isnt dying.. If it was dying there would be maybe 5 posts a day or less (which many forums are actually like that and worse)..

As opposed to the reletivly large amount of people posting and logging on daily to chat and/or battle and drop rhymes...

I think RV is mainly a chat site these days, it has a great battle system.. But I see it as a site that just brings like minded people together to talk on whatevers on their mind/going on in their lives....

As for the thread topics... Meh.. Welcome to the internet... Theres nothing really out of the norm here....................
