Barcoding your CD's
 

Anyone have any idea on what sorta companys to contact about barcoding your CD's.

Im not from america so please dont give me american company names, unless its a global barcoding company.

But mainly need to know what sort of company it will be so I can search that phone book and make the call :thumbup:

I guess no ones ever looked into barcoding there CD's.

Barcode= thing the retail cats scan to sell your product.

shoulda went in audio assistance but to get a functioning barcode you have to register with soundscan through ascap or bmi.

is soundscan universal and is there much of a cost for it?
i have had my CD priced and im looking at 350 for all CD's barcoded.

soundscan is who keeps track of all record sales world wide. every CD who's bar code gets scanned gets counted in soundscan.


as for cost, it's like $150 to join ascap or BMI and you're a life long member. they make sure you get paid.

That'd be nice if you own your own store or something, but Soundscan ain't gonna count that cheap bullshit man lmao

stick with what works. what I pointed out will make sure you get paid no matter where you're at, AND you'll have Soundscan numbers to show a distributor or a label so you'll know EXACTLY what you sold and when. AAND you get a Performing Rights Org like BMI that'll make sure you get paid off every swipe, not some cosmetic shit for show and tell that no real store computers are gonna be able to read.
