Why do people take off the MP3 DL option from their tracks?
 

I think it's kind of arrogant. I'm sorry, but no one on the internet who hasn't achieved mass success doesn't really have the justification to not provide a free MP3 of their tracks on S/C.

I feel like this...If someone likes me enough to even take the time to DL my music, then I'm happy and thankful. I'm not going to remove the DL option to prevent people from getting my music.

Well I take it off sometimes so that the song isn't DL cuz I don't want it to be. Crazy I know.

It can bring in more hits too, because they have to go to your SC to hear your music, where as if they DL it they don't have to go to your SC.

i dont make them a free download n shit, cuz alot of people round here listen 2 my SC, n they buy my cd's cuz they wanna listen 2 it n shit, but if they could just d/l it i'd lose money, werd

I feel you...But, to be honest, when I see that a rapper has the MP3 option removed, I move on to the next emcee.

That's my reasoning, I don't really care on soundclick, but on myspace I find removing the d/l option makes a song get plays a lot faster. However, if it's a single that I want everyone to hear and spread etc., I put the d/l option on.

The only reason people have to do this is when their selling their music and only want to provide a preview.

Anyone else is just a poser who likes to feel special.....

Yeah well while your worried about how many plays your getting on your little internet page..

Your blocking people from doing shit like putting your songs on their Ipods and mp3 players and showing their friends your music...

Music is about reaching people, not how many hits you can get on a net page.. See your logic is fucked because if you really do get people liking your shit enough to come back to your page and re-listen to songs, thats only another hit from someone whos already heard your shit... Which is useless to you.. You might aswell just give them the mp3..

Go do some gigs and shop some demo's to labels if you really wanna get your music out there...
