Exact Size An Album Cover Should Be...
anybody know?
b/c i heard somethin about them needing to be bigger than they actually are when they print them when u send em to the printing company... |
400x400 ...
But man seriously.. It can be whatever... With images like a cd cover, its usually best to create the image in a real high resolution like 1000x1000 then downsize it before you print. |
^^ what he said....
|
wrong.
its not 500 pixels or anything close to that, it depends on the printer and on the dpi your working at. Doing what Nos said would work best as at a high dpi it would keep good quality. The correct size would be 4.75inch X 4.75inch at 300 dpi . |
you start bigger.. then you make the actual thing smaller when you're done
the resolution definitely will be better that way... so yeah... what nos said basically.... |
word up... thats what i was thinking, preciate it

^^exactly what I heard when I got my covers printed. 4.75x4.75 with a 300dpi resolution. and my shit came out crystal clear. |
Or...better yet, dl a program that automatically sizes it for you. When printing covers from home, that is probably your best bet. But if you don't have a program or you can't find one, then like Daubs said, 4.75 in x 4.75 in at 300 DPI resolution. You can get away with 200, but 300 is better.
When sending it to a company it doesn't really matter cuz they will resize it for you. |
*wonders if theres anyway he could sneak some album paper into our campus's free printing printers*
lol, that would be dope as hell, but i think theyre all b&w :( but word, thanks for the help all... |
