Congratulations england.
lol |
pshh...
people have no idea about the UK scene bruv...simple as...especially Americans...they think they run it jus through pure ignorance to other nations styles...let them think what they want |
lol nah, but people say UK will go nowhere outside the UK.
but we got jumpoff(UKs biggest battle event) now making moves in new york, UK battlers hitting the new york streets and gettin mad props from likes of the saurus, illmaculate e.t.c and new york in general. foriegn beggars working with wildchild and oh no aswell as others, they recently toured canada too i beleive. now this.... UK on the riiiiiiiiiise... there is more thats happened aswell, but still, we proving alot of people wrong. |
but who are you proving what too? The way i see it as long as you make music to represnt your people thats all that should matter. Who gives a fuck about impressing america?
|
think of it this way... the music originated from america, and we are contributing to what they created, so from time to time appreciation and respect for what is done is nice. and i am quite proud of the fact when i started out in this scene and found out about the whole UK scene properly, everything was majourly underground, literally unheard of anywhere, and it has finally risen above that and has music radio stations dedicated to it in the UK, UK artists being compared to big american names, collabing with sum of hip hops greats and recieving majour love and respect from the streets of new york aswell as american artists coming to the UK just to chill and vibe and partake in the scene as a fan rather than an artist.
i remember hearing,Cassidy being interviewed by Penfold (Itch FM)...although Cassidy is a commercial rapper,he was talking about going to Deal Real and how the rappers there were extremely passionate, and had love for the art. "there were mad cats just ciphering non stop yo,it was crazy, they just loved spitting"...(something along those lines). Mark Ronson said, "it feels like New York in 86', the kids are hanging out and freestyling" describing Deal Real. Although I'm not a major fan of the Jump Off stage battles,Guru (Gangstarr) wanted JumpOff to come to NY as he thought its what the NY hip-hop scene needed. When Mos Def came to Deal Real to do a live PA,he came back the week after to chill out.(just like as i said, be a fan not an artist) its just nice to know that our talent is actually being recognised^^theres so many more than that which have been to deal real, they do alot of launch parties at deal real aswell, trust its big n got sum SICK heads www.dealreal.co.uk |
