Blow up, start appearing all over TRL, and you won't have to do anything to get your record played.

you gotta get your tape in the hands of Radio personalities.... e-mail them.... nagg them... call them.... the squeaky wheel gets the oil.... Persistence overcomes resistence.... your gonna get more No's than yes's.... but thats the game....

you know

Konvict_NYC 06-26-06 01:15 PM

I agree with tito......

pay them which is what a lot of them do nowadays anyway, or land a deal with one of the biggest labels and convince them you're worth being paid for

pay them = not gonna work since...you're nobody. You won't even get close to the person you need to.

nag them = not gonna work since...you're nobody. And one of a million nobodies that call daily.

I know the answer lol...but I'm not gonna tell ya since you're a cock sucker and an ingrate.

But here's a hint: it takes more than one person. A lot more. And the program director is NOT the person you need to talk to.[/good-deed-for-an-asshole for this week]

Apexx, tell that second point to the thousands of emerging writers a year...it's a matter of talent and a good deal of luck, is it not? Just like submitting to an agent or a publisher, you need to have a good presentable resume/query letter, short and sweet, to tell shit like prior performances if you have any, what type of people would like your music, and an example or two of your songs...that is, if you're e-mailing them. You can do the same thing on the phone, telling them why they should promote a nobody.

TitoBronsky 06-26-06 03:04 PM

basicly.... a well put together press kit.... coupled with goodluck..... and perserverance

chronix 06-26-06 03:06 PM

Get them to pay attention...they're not gonna pay attention to you just because your saying you've done x amount of shows, n' you appeal to _____ kind of people. Get people to call in for your shit...not just one or two friends, I MEAN A LOT of people. Pester them outside the building with people chanting they wantyour song etc. But there's barely any point of getting played on the radio in itself because of the time you'll probably get played...your better off trying to get oppurtunities to perform, handing out your tapes to dj's etc. Then maybe when you built somewhat of a name try n get on the radio.
