I've wondered about that as well. I mean, even if you take care of other people's kids, I imagine it isn't the same as having and then raising your own. What's sad though is that everyone who has kids isn't necessarily fit to raise them. Parenting doesn't come with a manual.

One day, who knows...

Being a dad is great, sucks, tiring, inspirational, humbling, tiring, loving, happy, heartbreaking, proud, tiring, nerve racking, teaching, scolding, rewarding, hair pulling, tiring, laughable, enjoyable, endless, protecting, did I mention tiring?

But really, there is no other feeling like it. And there is no feeling at the same time. When my kids were born I felt no different. I did all the same stuff I did the day before. I thought it would be an instant change, but it was far from it. Just try to imagine how much your parents must have felt for you to put up with all your shit and not kill you or send you off to be raised by wolves........that's the love for a child

when an accomplishment is achieved by your son or daughter ya feel happy and like the smile cant g away......

it aint always a barrel of laughs...but being a father is something that i'll never regret...

one of those unplanned pregnancies...i felt stuff like i was scared...i was happy...worried...proud...that was before

when i held my boy in my arms for the first time...thats when i felt like i'd become complete and children especially ya own do that...well they do to me

but im livin it on another perspective coz i've split from the babies mom so i'm now the part-time dad role...and it sucks...but i love every minute i spend with my son and i'm glad i'm still there for him...he's only 2 but i'll try and make sure i speak to him everyday and when i got him i feel like a different person as to the guy i am during the week...kids change a person...sometimes for the best, sometimes for the worst...i'd like to feel that i've changed for the best...

I have a lot of respect for parents.

Lately I have been looking after my girlfriend's one and a half year old brother...

Trust me...shit is incredibly tiring. For example, this one day, he was extremely bitchy. Seven hours of almost cobnstant crying...I took him for like 6 walks that day just so I could keep him quiet. Changing diapers sucks too.

But it is rewarding at the end of the day. Cause when you do keep them happy, it can be a blast.

my mate Dan has a lil brother now (half brother)

not quite the same like BEING a parent but coz the real dad ain't there it may sound weird but he's the closest to a manly figure his lil bro has and my mates lil bro WORSHIPS the ground he walks on and my mate was on some fucked up road and since his lil brother was born he mellowed out so hard...

it's seriously amazing what kids can do to people...seriously

Mad Dog 07-14-06 06:09 PM

basically...my mate used to be so edgy around my son but his lil bro has i unno like opened up something inside him and he's always pickin up my boy (something he wouldn't do) and always chattin to my lil'en it's amazing around kids NOW he's completely differenet whereas he used to always stay in the background...but he'll get involved a lot more...

i think he'd be good wit a kid of his own lol
