Mixing ON Cool Edit Made So Much EASIER
 

I posted this here because people can see it...

Aight basically,

Do you have this long process that you slugg through each verse and it annoys the hell out of you..

I have that too, I do ten seperate things to mine..well now here's an easier way...

Keep yo process..but 1 time, click on one of ya vocals next time u record..and go to favourites..

Then here click favourites, then click edit favourites...Then you wana click new and enter the name and a shortcut key and then where it says cool edit effect click the down scroll button and look for the 1 u use, and click edit settings to make sure its the rigth pre-set and then click save..

What'ive done is made a shortcut key...

1 - Amplitude - dynamic processing..
2 - graphic eq - preset eq

etc. all the way to number 9...

so now all I have to do is click

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 to get it done without using the mouse to find it and clck nah mean...

yea i saw this on the favorites area.....but i never really knew how to use it.....but i don't even use anything realy on my verses.....so its all good

Yea...everytime I record I'm like "I wish I had a short cut key for Normalize, Dynamic, etc...

I do this to on some of the effects, but you can't really set a preset for the equalizer, seeing as how each verse is different on different songs..Some may need to be set differently to blend with the beat better, you know? Man, I'm fucking sleepy.

damn, I always wondered why the Fool Edit users I know always got like 74 steps for their shit and it still don't turn out how they want it. I use 1 to turn on my EQ set.

hmm...

maybe most the users i know have craptastic mics and think layer after layer of effect is gonna correct that.

well not always true. alot of people process their voices alot, and alot of the times if your doing it right, it makes it clearer. but for people who have good equipment (more so the preamp), they dont have to do a whole lot. but untill you drop a pretty penny on some quality shit, expect a bizzilion steps lol

word to apexx.....i don't put anything on my vocals........i record it and then blap its done.....

you need a good mic and a good soundcard in order to be able to do that....and oh yes....a pre amp of good quality will put you over the top...ooooooh....bueno!!

I'll be honest man, "good quality" doens't have anything to do with a preamp or with a soundcard.

it's the mic, an interface (they're all the same quality), good wires, and good headphones.

that's all. Everyhing else you could possibly desire aaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllll comes from EQing. EQing is key yo. if you think you can just slap on some effects or just record dry and cut it you're dead wrong.

that shit's good if you wanna make music you're gonna give away for free, but it ain't gonna cut it for shit you want to get ahead with.
