I'm thinking about doing a demo/mixtape/EP, come help
 

This would be the first one I do, I'm doing it for a mix between a little bit of extra money and a little bit more exposure. Most people who've heard me spit was freestyles through school or a few tracks on my MySpace, so I think making and selling an EP would be a good idea.

Let's say it has 5 tracks and plays for somewhere between 15-20 minutes, is selling it for 3 dollars a good idea? Should I make it longer/shorter or sell it for less/more?

I just want to make sure I can do this the right way. I'll probably sell somewhere between 30-50 of them around school if I do well IMO.

word I did this in high school too. but maybe instead or 5, bump it up to 10. and 3 or even up to 5 dollars could be reasonable.

but if it's demo like you trying to give out to labels or w/e then 4 tracks, but you prolly already know that.

but word i'd think 10 would be cooler. but if you DID do 5, iunno if 3 dollars would make someone buy it. Maybe only the people who really know your shit, or real coo with you. but if they never heard of you, 3 would be too much for only 5.

ummmm, well if u made a demo....... u dont sell that.... and ur EP should be more like 7-10 if u wanna sell it for 3-4 dollars...... just try and make ur shit sound as professional as possible........ get on good terms with someone u know mixes well...... shit, it could even be someone on this site who will prolly do it for free for u...... like me....... but fuck u, i hate people who want to make sense

There's a whole lot of people around here who would buy something from me even if it was 20 dollars, I want it cheaper though so even the people who DON'T know me would buy it.

Cali shows no love...Move to tha South where they all tryna come up and you will get exposed. The south showed that, you dont even need to be decent these days to get a record deal. As long as you from the south you're good!
