Well basically, you'll find that the majority of people who started at places like this have a better knack for writing lyrics, and are more knowledgable about the process of making tracks. What they lack in is freestyle ability, because they never need to use it. Usually it starts with writing text lyrics, which develops abilities is wordplay and makes their vocabulary a lot bigger... Then when they move to audio they have to change their flow up so it works over a beat, but the niceness of the lyrics carries over. They have to learn about audio equipment, and how to edit tracks to get their shit to sound good. A lot of this info is easily found around forums and shit. With guys that start offline, they are usually better freestylers and their lyrics are more simplistic. Also, they dont know the first thing about recording their stuff unless people teach them or they look it up. Thats generally the difference... |
yo wat r u talk'n about son?
i respect ya opinion but how r u gonna cats like me, who started rapping tha regular way, dont know about recording and we write simplistic lyrics??? i guess Nas, immortal techniqe, talib kweli, mos def, they must hav started on da net since they are lyrical, but wait! they can alll freestyle to! in my opinoin, ur flow n the way you ride beat, ur voice, n ur presence r way more important for a first time rapper if you learn da other way ur nothing but a ghost writer who cant flow |
Immortal Technique did start on the net/learnt alot from rapping online.. I didnt start on the net,but it taught me alot of things.
Why are you so against the net? sign off if its that bad? |
i'm here to work on my concept tracks n storytelling, not to start
who starts on da fuck'n net? dat shit makes no sense, r u shy? afraid to get made fun of in real life? i'm sure immortal still was rapping in real life, he didnt jus sign on here n start |
i see exactly what your saying. No one really ever starts on the net. most are doing what your doing learning. But learning is some what of a start.
if people do start online, who cares, thats there life, ever though of just doing you and concerning less with what others do? Why are you so hooked up on a the net not being "real life" im not dead when im online, i dont all of a sudden become a diffrent person when im online, I dont change my point of view when im online, i dont change my writting style when im online, im not dead when im online. You speak like your tryna rectify yourself being online, just chill bro, the nets is the net. of course there are diffrences being online then offline, but you coudl say the same about sitting ont he toilet taking a shit. theres a diffrence between being in the toilet and not being on the toilet. |
actually Cassie YES cassie who has sold and made millions now was SIGNED off myspace so dont say the net is TERRIBLE So many people have hooked up with lables through myspace
|
cassie hasnt made no damn millions, do ur label homework, n i'm sure we all use myspace for marketing but we DONT START ON THERE DO WE???
|
^^look how famous she got off that shit.....how many people do you NOT see with ME and U in there profiles......like every girl has that shit on there.....well at least that i know
|
wat tha fuck r u talk'n about???????

Don't assume things from what I said. There have been artists that started in both ways that are accomplished. Its just because there are different pressures in different environments that things work differently. Obviously a cunt who started on the net will be better lyrically, at first, but in audio will have to work on their delivery more. Somebody who starts off the net will be working on delivery first up and then lyrics and shit and elevating from there. I started rapping the regular way as well, im just saying it how it is. I have seen a lot of guys start out on sites like these that have dope flow, delivery, and lyrics. So calling them nothing but ghost writers that cant flow is just like me saying people who started out normally are shallow and have no lyrical skill. |
