Both created and discovered.

How is that so?

The way the brain works, you can look at your surroundings and create your own knowledge and abstractions. However you can also discover truths about things, or discover knowledge documented by somebody else.

So essentually you believe that knowledge, upon the first time it is thought of by a person...........It is created?

Did it exist before? Or did the person who first concieved that knowledge in part shape the universe?

^ yeah im actually with u on this one... it existed before the person does what you're calling "creating" it, they person just discovers it...

Actually I kind of lean towards the opposite of that...

No, it didnt exist before. Knowledge itself is an abstract concept by the way and doesnt exist. But for the sake of argument, consider language.

A tribe in Africa would have their own words for things, that they created out of nowhere. In that case the knowledge was created and not discovered.

On the flipside, language could be a planned concept by an omniscient god that enlightened the people who we now believe created it.

You seem fairly sure of yourself... Whys that?

So some god thought of every single one of the countless dialects that people have used since they started communicating?

Man what happened to you, you used to be all for logic. Now all you say is "Man, of course youre wrong. An omniscient alien God might have done it" to everything.

Not really... All im doing is taking a look at how the human brain works, and stating the fact that it can create abstractions and learn existing abstractions.

But you dont REALLY know that were creating and not discovering..

If all there was was discovery, then how can people create their own opinions, realities, languages, imagination... ?
