So I thought of a good question. Is space infinite?
Seriously, something has to end at some point right? Well, in my opinion I don't believe that. Now, i'm not just talking about outer space, but space in general, all the space in the entire universe including outer space. The space in your room ends between your walls, BUT, there's space behind your walls. Like, look at outer space, if you had an indestructable rocket ship, eternity to kill, and an infinite amount of fuel, and you flew for eternity in the same direction, would you ever reach an end, or would you just keep flying forever? I mean it has to end... but it can't. Let's say you finally reach a magical wall that cannot be passed, and you're thinking "It's finally ended." But wait, what's behind the wall? Something has to be behind it. Or what if you had an infinite amount of solid matter. Would you be able to fill up all the space in the universe with this solid matter? Or is there an infinite amount of space therefore an infinite amount of solid matter would not be able to fill up that infinite amount of space because.... it's infinite. Needless to say, it's FUCKED UP.

Dont know. And it doesnt matter that I dont know.

Space should be infinite in the sense that it is curved, therefore if you were to travel infinitly, you would just end up where you began your trip...
But thats only based on information deemed to be credible by our primative understanding of the universe..........so...........fuck it............ |
its already knwon that space is not infinite. as a matter of fact the universe that we live in is already collapsing on it self as it was before life was on earth
|
fucking scientists need to make up their minds casue last year we were taught it was infinite lol
oh well i dot believe alot of things i dont think we ever landed on the moon |
lmfao, ok, I guess you guys don't get it. Space IS infinite. Try to explain to me how it isn't.
Nos are you trying to say that space is curved, so if you travel in one direction you'd end up circling the universe and ending up back in the same place you started from? Ok, but if space is a curved sphere, what's behind the curved sphere of space? MORE SPACE  |
thinking about stuff dealing with infinity like this will drive you mad...
|
^^ And that's word.
|
Rofl @ the idiot who doesn't believe we landed on the moon.
|
^^ US didn't.................

This is where theoretical science takes over, if you believe in big bang and an inflationary univese, then roughly you can say its infinite although a better term would be ever-expanding.
Light is what we use to explore distant space, the light from stars. We know how fast light travels, so if we know how far away a star is, we know how long ago the star put out the light. From motion of the Earth, looking at a star at different times of the year, we know how far away the most distant galaxies we have ever seen are located. These are stars just coming into being, very young stars. This causes scientists to believe we there are not many stars beyond. Still, there could be. It is possible that a very distant set of galaxies exists on its own, too far away for its light to have reached us yet. If you use penguin logic, aka organized religion, you'll end up in an endless cycle of junk science. |

There are actually reflectors on the moon they used to reflect light off... Quote:
Not really, if you define the universe as all space. It loops. The end of the universe is behind your back, but you can never see it. |

That shit is wild, very intruiging. Especially the guy's closing statement. |
"We'll miss you, Pluto."
Dude...freeze the video at 1:02...and look in the middle..Quite sure it's just computer animated though. :) |
