look up "fasttrack USB". it eliminates the need for a soundcard.

pm fux he jus got this new raw ass external usb sound card when we recorded with it the quality of the mic was perfect wasnt really a need for mixin

yo but I psoted on a bunch of sites, and they said the delaying of my vocals when IR ecorded was because my soundcard was bad, and couldn't process my vocals at right speed and shit like that.

^man I was lookin' @ that and it sounds like it's just like a pre-amp. But why spend 100 when I already got a 100 dollar pre-amp? Or Did I search the wrong thing? lol

it's not a preamp it's an Interface and it works completely differently. preamps don't translate pure sound, they put their own flavor on it, just like sound cards and every other analog device. interfaces have zero flavoring of their own, they just transmit the sound and get out of the way. sonically speaking, they're completely transparent, you'd have to spend close to a thousand bucks on a piece of analogue equipment to get that transparency. btw, you can record on an interface to your computer with NO soundcard. Soundcards are for analogue gear, not digital.

i have that interface downstairs just sitting around doing nothing.......cause i got my pro tools and what not...and well...when u have pro tools...theres no need for that interface......

but yea...you could benefit from a nice soundcard...but the interface will do u better
