Like not one of the BIG TIME managers and stuff, but just someone to start out. Like a guy to find you gigs and help get you on right track. Like how would you find one? and how much do they usually cost?

wtf? Why would I get my dad? He don't have connections, he don't know SHIT about music let alone the music industry, he already has a job and only gets home at 7-8 each night. I don't see how that would work. It'd be pretty stupid in my opinion. Family friend would be good idea yes, but dad, wtf no, unless he does shit like that then of course, that'd be obvious choice.

Why not do it independent. Fuck a label a mangager and everything mainstream. Hit up your local coffee shops for start... Tell them you'll do show's for cheap or free if you want your name out... When you put out your CD and go to make it copied and shit find a good deal like 1000 cds for 1000 bucks... Sell them for 5 each or cheqper just to get your name out... advertise yourself on myspace... etc... thats my plan

yea but thats gonna take years...take hard target for example...he is fucking dope...and has been at it forever...and shits just movin now.....get yourself a good maneger that wont fuck you around....werk shit like shows/promo/mixtapes/album with only like 4 of your illest tracks...then take tha money youve made get a good entertainment lawyer..(which cost up to 500 an hour if there ill)...and they shop u a deal or at least get tha ball rollin largely in tha right direction.......by passing your shit to labels..which recive hundreds of demos a day...from kids on myspace...or independant artist...which sit there...but u have that guy passing it to them it suddenly becomes listenable:thumbup:

you're looking for a talent agency. I'd call up as amny as possibl and start asking some questions about their history etc.

they say that Myspace.com is the wave of the future.... Record Companys and Execs arent listening to a thousand demo tapes and all that shit anymore.... you send your tape in for good mesure.... but the odds are... it will get no play with out a thorough "Press Kit". And then the tape has to be the BOMBEST SHIT EVER!!!!!! if your lucky you'll get a call back....

if you dont wanna leave it all to luck and chance.... then stay on your grind..... The internet is where Lables are picking up there talent these days.... Promote on Myspace and move up the S/C charts.... Lock down your Local Market.... if you can win over your Home Town and build a following then it wont be left to luck for you to get signed.... Lables are only takin on acts now with a Following.... because it cost to much to invest in an artist on a whim and a hope that they will be sucessfull.... they want to see you already Succedding.... and then they will pick you up and start throwin money at your distribution and promoting campeigns.......

A good thing to do now a-days it to GET ON AS MANY MIXTAPES AS YOU CAN!! HOOK UP WITH DJS AS MANY AS YOU CAN!! the mixtape circuit is a good way to get signed....and Getting an exclusive spot on like "ALLHIPHOP.COM" it'll cost like 50-60 bucks but its worth it..Hot Rod got signed off that shit to G UNIT lol even though I know you dont like them..
