Why an ex jay-z fan hates jay z
when one of the biggest names in the game is rappin liek garbage, you lower the standard. hot beats. wack rhymes. what the fuck is somebody supposed to think?
you let the whole rap game down man. |
^ Agreed man.
I stopped liking Jay way back. But I still had hope. now...nothing. |
So, let's sit around and hate on the man?
Yes, alot of Jay's lyrics consist of "I got this and you ain't got shit." But, the man speaks the truth in lots of his lyrics as well. It's in a way that you have to be savvy enough to catch. He appeals to a certain demograph. Example: "I'm young enough to know which car to buy, but old enough to know not to put rims on it." ^^That's ill to me cuz it has a message to it and NO ONE else would ever say it. 1 |
I'm not hating on him.
I'm just dissapointed in what he has become. Something like Eminem. They both WERE SO ILL back in the day. Then something happened and they lost their edge. If jay had come out now like he did back during the Reasonable Doubt or Blueprint Days. I would still love dudes music. But he just aint what he used to be. |

I feel u...But, there's only so much to rap about...Just a matter of rehashing ideas and presenting them in creative ways...I think Jay does that effectively...People are acting like this war in Iraq represents something revolutionary in the minds of today's youth? HUH? Can you say, "VIETNAM!" My point is, there has always been things to rap about...Always will be...Jay has chosen his path and I say good for him. I happen to understand what he's tryna do with his flow...It's almost like Biggie, but without the charisma and presence. Jay is def. the best rapper alive tho. 1 |
Their not talkin about the message, because 90% of the mainstream rappers today can say how much shit they got compared to other people. They say he fell off because his rhyme scheme is nothing compared to what it used to be. Its not hating, its telling the plain truth. Just like all the other rappers who have fell off. It's part of the rap life cycle. I'm not a strong Jay fan, but i listen to his music. I have the kingdom come cd. And to me, it didnt appear that (a) he didnt try or (b) he's been away from the "grind" so long that he's forgotten what made him who he is today.

yal need to listen to that track on myspace. gots every single 160 lines he bit

Can you clarify the last thing you typed? Are you saying that it appears he didn't try hard? |
Hes over rated. but ill play his music.

"it didnt appear that (a) he didnt try OR (b) he's been away from the "grind" so long that he's forgotten what made him who he is today."
one or the other pimpin. We all have been around his music. We know when someone try, or when they dont. If he didnt fall off, then he simply didnt try. No in between. If you want my true opinion. I believe that it was a publicity stunt that worked. For example, BET awards, he wins the Hustler Award? From a cd that didnt hit stores until this week? If there was anyone that should have one that, it was Diddy hands down. And I dont even like Diddy as an artist like that. Plus, concernin Tony, when your considered a biter, no matter how good you are, you will always be one. |
Never really liked Jay-Z's work besides Reasonable Doubt.
|
He ALOT doper than now and in the next 20 yrs then anyone on this site.
|
He's only as dope as his fans make him to be. Which we, on this site, are a part of.
|
U can't argue with Jay's flow tho
