I believe you can uninstall the OS via control panel.

nah, there was a way to do it from DOS like C:/ format but it's been so damn long that i forgot. and as much trouble as you guys get wiht your shits, i figure somebody would remember

The old school way to do it back with win98 from dos was typing - format c:

No idea if that will work with win2k or winxp though. I thought I had gotten some type of message saying that the disk can't be formatted because it was active or something. You might be able to do it by creating a book disk if that happens. You can also reformat using the install cd when doing the installation. Since you are reformatting it, I'm guessing you have a cd to reinstall windows or some other os?

Do you wanna erase the hard drive? Right click it in My Computer.. I know compaq's and a few other had start up screens where you can choose to reset it to defaults and shit

you cant delete it completely without a disc if thats the drive you have windows on, cuz you're using windows to delete windows, doesnt make much sense lol, you'd have to have the disk and then delete it before windows opens up when you first turn on your computer or w/e that whole setup

nah man you use DOS to delete windows, just liek you use DOS to install windows. DOS is its own OS that runs windows and Windows is just a visual representation of what DOS is doing and "thinking". thank god Windows is the only computer OS that does that.

yeah see that's the thing i have no CD. I'm not trying to reinstall anything, just wipe it clean and be done with it.

i'm thinking if i press and hold f1 (or was it f5?) it'll bring up the screen for prompts and just take it from there.

yea, my bad, i formatted my shit like 3 times but i forgot how it looked i havent done it in a while

you could get the cd on torrentspy though btw, but im not sure if they took it down, i lost both windows xp discs that i bought and i was like fuck that im not buying a 3rd since bill gates is rich enough so i downloaded the "corporate" version from torrentspy and burned it to cd and it actually worked, only difference from corporate and professional is you dont have to authenticate it or w/e

∆ P E X X 01-13-07 05:07 PM

wordulation, i'll keep that in mind, but based on the content of your last bit of advice, i second guess the validity of that corprorate vs professional bit :S

Compose 01-13-07 05:33 PM

lmao, werd, but nah but i have all the options that professional edition has and the torrent i downloaded was corporate version, everyone on the comments was saying that was the difference was that you dont have to validate it, whatever you do dont get home edition that shit sucks raw ass balls
