What's a cashier check?
 

This dude's trying to cop this shit off me with a cashier's check, but I don't know what that is. Enlighten me!

long story short it's like a money order issued by someone's bank, with money out of their own account. the exact dollar amount is printed on it by the bank, instead of handwritten by the account holder.

cashiers checks classify as "hard money". a personal check (which anyone can write to any amount, regardless of funds on hand) is soft considered money.
