Alright so, i installed Vista, messed my computer up and had to reinstall XP, everything i had is gone, so when i try and auto-sync with my music folder its going to see all my songs are gone and erase them off the ipod, so, is there any way i can add new songs without it taking away the ones i already have on it??

take your ipod off auto update, and switch it to manual update instead.
